About Nicholas Maldonado
Dr. Maldonado was born in the Bronx, New York. After graduating from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for Music & Art and Performing Arts, he attended a 7-year combined B.S./M.D. program at the Sophie B. Davis School of Biomedical Education in Manhattan, at the City College of New York. He completed his medical school training at Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He later attended a 4-year emergency medicine residency and served as chief resident at the Harvard-Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Brigham & Women’s Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. After residency, Dr. Maldonado accepted a full-time clinical faculty position at the University of Florida in 2014.
Dr. Maldonado co-authored the popular emergency medicine pocket guide Pocket Emergency Medicine, 3rd edition. He has a strong interest in medical student and residency education, evidence based-emergency medicine and diagnostic decision making. His future aspirations include obtaining an additional degree and participating in clinical research trials.
On his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children as well as playing jazz guitar.
