About Charles Hwang

Charles Hwang, M.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine.

Dr. Hwang attended the University of Florida for his bachelor’s degree, and was accepted into the Junior Honors Medical Program (JHMP), a combined 7-year B.S/M.D. program. At UF, he completed his medical degree and residency in emergency medicine, where he served as chief resident. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in emergency medical services.

Dr. Hwang has served as medical director of Levy County Department of Public Safety, as well as assistant medical director of Alachua County Fire Rescue and the University Athletic Association. He belongs to several professional organizations, including American College of Emergency Physicians and National Association of EMS Physicians. He has also contributed to several publications, presentations and lectures regarding emergency medicine.
