About Desmond Fitzpatrick
Before joining the faculty at the Department of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Fitzpatrick attended the University of Miami for an undergraduate degree in neuroscience. He completed his medical degree at Florida State University’s College of Medicine. He then went on to obtain his emergency medicine residency training at UF Health Shands Hospital and continued his training at UF with an Emergency Medical Services Fellowship. Dr. Fitzpatrick is currently part of the Division of Emergency Medical Services, where he serves as associate director of EMS fellowships, medical director for Lake County EMS system, medical director for Sumter County EMS, medical director for Stadium Operations and Disaster Preparedness, Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and as the EMS clerkship director.
