About Rachel M Coleman

Dr. Rachel Coleman received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Milligan College in Johnson City, TN and her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA in June 2007. She then stayed on as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics from September 2007 until December 2011. She and her family then realized they could no longer take MA winters and very happily returned to Gainesville where she started as Faculty at UF Health Pediatrics -Tower Square in January 2012.

Her clinical interests include Early childhood Education, STEM and STEAM education as a way to promote creativity and innovation, Reach out and Read, and Medical-Legal Partnerships. She founded the first pediatric Medical-Legal Partnership at UF in November 2018. That partnership is helping address health harming legal needs for patients in the Pediatrics department.

Rachel enjoys spending time with her family, reading books of all varieties, and traveling. While she comes from a family of Seminole fans, her time in Gainesville and working for UF has converted her to a UF fan. Go Gators!
