EM research team collaborates for COM Celebration of Research

Celebrating the incredible scholarship and collaboration within our Emergency Medicine research community at the University of Florida College of Medicine Celebration of Research.

We’re grateful for the mentorship, curiosity, and teamwork that make moments like this possible.

As Dr. Brandon Allen, MSRP Director for EM, shared:

“We were proud to celebrate a strong showing from our Emergency Medicine research team at the University of Florida College of Medicine Celebration of Research. Our Medical Student Research Program (MSRP) students represented the department across multiple scholarly formats, with e-poster presentations by Kiana McIntosh and Mahelet Dalke, and traditional poster presentations by Marquia Walker, Abhaya Dilip, and Elyse Winter. Their projects reflected thoughtful clinical questions and a commitment to advancing acute care practice — a testament to the curiosity, discipline, and perseverance these students brought to their work throughout the summer and this year.

We were also excited to see our PGY-2 resident, Dr. Brandon Yang, present an e-poster alongside the students, highlighting the strength of our teaching and research missions. Watching learners grow from developing research skills to leading scholarly work is one of the most rewarding aspects of academic emergency medicine. This group’s success represents not only individual accomplishment, but a collaborative culture in which students and residents learn with — and from — each other while contributing meaningful scholarship to improve patient care.”

Congratulations to all of our students and trainees for their hard work and dedication to advancing emergency care through research. We’re grateful for the faculty mentorship and collaborative spirit that make this success possible.
