Mary Patterson, M.D., M.Ed. named the UF College of Medicine Lou Oberndorf Professor in Healthcare Technology

Dr. Mary PattersonMary Patterson, M.D., M.Ed., has been named the UF College of Medicine Lou Oberndorf Professor in Healthcare Technology.

On July 1, she began her professorship in the UF department of emergency medicine, along with her role as assistant dean and director of the UF Center for Experiential Learning and Simulation. As the founder of the Cincinnati Children’s Center for Simulation Research and the former president of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, Patterson is an internationally recognized leader in experiential learning and simulation in the health sciences. She is building upon the UF College of Medicine’s rich history of innovation in the development, testing and integration of simulation technologies to foster a culture of experimental learning, patient safety and patient outcomes in the UF Center for Experiential Learning and Simulation.
