Springhill Freestanding Emergency Centers

UF Health has two freestanding emergency centers, both of which are fully equipped and staffed to provide the same level of emergency care provided in hospital-based emergency departments, and are open 24/7. ERAdult Emergency Department / Trauma Center

The UF Health Shands Trauma Center, located on the first floor of the UF Health Shands Cancer Hospital complex, provides advanced critical care, emergency and trauma medicine to the people of north central Florida in one of the most carefully designed and sophisticated facilities of its kind. pediatricER-entrancePediatric Emergency Department

The Pediatric E.R. is staffed by seven UF board-certified or board-eligible pediatric emergency medicine physicians and 22 Shands pediatric-trained emergency medicine registered nurses. The team can treat up to 24,000 pediatric emergency patients a year. Calming, child-friendly décor with a nautical theme enhances the check-in and waiting areas, with porthole windows, saltwater aquariums and floors made to look like waves adding to the atmosphere.
