Why UF EM?
- It all came down to gut feeling for me. We had an attending stop by our interview for 2 hours after he worked an overnight shift to sit and talk with us during our down time. I was really impressed by that. The resident turn out during the day was stellar and I could tell they were a close group. The new ED is really nice and the patient population, both in terms of diversity and annual census, was just what I was after. I left the interview feeling like I had actually been interviewed, and that they knew who I was and what I was about before leaving the hospital. I felt like they cared about the grit and character of applicants, and developing those attributes further was a priority to them. That made UF a very attractive option for me. Last and certainly not least, there are some big largemouth bass in Florida.
