Dr. Hwang is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and Medical Director of Levy County Department of Public Safety.
Before joining the faculty at the Department of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Hwang attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate education, where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Interdisciplinary Biological and Medical Sciences. During college, he was awarded the University Scholars Program award and was accepted into medical school through the Junior Honors Medical Program, the University of Florida’s seven year combined B.S.-M.D. program.
Dr. Hwang received his medical degree from the University of Florida and went on to complete his emergency medicine residency at UF Health, where he served as chief resident and was nominated for the Outstanding Resident Teacher Award twice. He was also awarded the Best Discussant award during FCEP’s Case Presentation Competition in 2014.
Dr. Hwang is board certified in emergency medicine and completed his EMS fellowship training at UF. He currently serves as the Medical Director of Levy County Department of Public Safety.
