Sadiqa Kendi, MD
Assistant Professor, Pediatric ED
Dr. Sadiqa Kendi was born and raised in Albany, Georgia. After graduating from Spelman College, she completed her medical school training at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Kendi completed a residency at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx in social pediatrics (pediatrics with a focus on the health of underserved urban children in the context of the community). She then completed a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she developed an interest in childhood injury prevention. Dr. Kendi worked as an attending in the Brown University/Hasbro Children’s Hospital Emergency Department before returning to the south to join the UF Health Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine in 2015.
Dr. Kendi’s academic interests include childhood injury prevention, community health, the use of media in public education about health, and medical education. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, listening to (and occasionally playing) live music, and performing West African dance.
