Dr. Slish is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at UF and board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Slish’s medical career began in 1991 when he became a full-time EMT in Ocala, Florida while attending CFCC, followed by UF undergrad. After graduating Cum Laude from the University of Florida, he matriculated to Ross University School of Medicine graduating in 2004 with honors. He went on to complete a preliminary year of Internal Medicine followed by a three-year residency in Emergency Medicine at LSUHSC-Shreveport. He worked private practice in Ocala prior to accepting a staff position in UF Emergency Medicine. He is a graduate of numerous tactical medicine courses, CONTOMS certified, and a TCCC instructor. Dr. Slish has attended the full police academy and is currently a sworn officer with the Gainesville Police Department. He also functions as the SWAT Team Physician for Alachua County Sheriff’s Office and Gainesville Police Department.
