Brandon Allen, MD
Assistant Medical Director, Adult ED
Dr. Allen was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL and has strong ties to the Sunshine State. He went to a small NAIA university in Kansas City, Missouri to pursue his football career, but realized after several injuries while playing quarterback (his 5’10” stature wasn’t going to get him to the NFL) to pursue medicine. After graduating from Avila University with a major in Biology, he was accepted to the Florida State University College of Medicine and graduated Alpha Omega Alpha.
The University of Florida has been home to him ever since. He finished his residency and final year as chief resident in 2013, and was hired on as faculty with the position of Assistant Medical Director. His major interests are the ED Scribe program, observation medicine, ED quality and throughput innovation, and studying emergent anticoagulation reversal.
Away from work, he enjoys watching sports (all of them), and spending time with his wife, Katie and two young children, Nila and Owen.
